Hole 2 - Concha
A short Par 4 which plays into the prevailing wind. In the second shot, you must avoid the lake to the right and the bunker to the left. The second shot must be carefully played to a raised two-tier green. If the flag is on the upper tier to the left, the second shot requires precision and control.

Hole 3 - Eucaliptos
A short Par 4 with a slight left to right dog leg. The difficult tee shot is from an elevated position with a bunker to the left and trees to the right and requires both length and precision. Hole 8 - Selo do Correio
The shortest hole on the course and normally played with a helping wind. The tee shot is played from an elevated position to a green well protected by sand and water. Club selection is never easy on this tricky Par 3.

Hole 9 - Grande Buraco
An excellent hole to finish the first 9 holes. The tee shot must avoid the bunkers on the left and bushes on the right. The second shot to the two-tier green must also be very precise to avoid bunkers on the left and the long the lake on the right. A tough hole where it is hard to make that winning birdie.

Hole 10 - Giesta
A Par 4 of 383 meters with a slight dog leg from right to left. The wind usually blows from left to right, so the tee shot needs to be placed as close as possible to the left-hand fairway bunker as the fairway also slopes from left to right. The second shot is uphill to a large and undulating green and correct club selection is crucial in order to avoid the right-hand bunker and to get the ball pin high.

Hole 11 - Augusta
A downhill Par 5 of less than 500 meters with the prevailing wind normally helping. It can be played in two different ways: Hit a driver to the corner of the left-to-right dog leg and then go for the green in two, avoiding the stream in front of the green. Or play it as a conventional Par 5: lay up short of the stream in two and play a short pitch for the 3rd shot. For both choices, it is better if the player can keep the ball below the hole.

Hole 12 - Freixo
This long Par 4 of over 400 meters is the start of the “Amen Corner” at Belas (holes 3, 4, and 5). The Tee shot needs to be long and straight to avoid the 5 strategically placed fairway bunkers. The sloping green is situated below the player and protected by a water hazard to the left and bunkers to the right. A challenging and very pretty hole, one of the best Par 4 in the course, if not in Portugal.

Hole 13 - Duplo Faiway
Less than 400 meters in length but with the wind normally against and playing uphill, this is a tough Par 4. The drive needs to be long and straight to avoid the fairway bunkers on the left. The elevated green is well protected with bunkers and has three distinct tiers, so club selection for the second shot is always a challenge on this hole. A Par here is a good result.

Hole 14 - Cidade
This is a long Par 3 which offers fantastic views of Sintra hills and the surrounding countryside. The elevated tee is at the highest point on the course and normally plays with a brisk right-to-left wind. The relatively flat green is well protected, and a par here is no easy feat.

Hole 15 - Jamor
This is a 500-meter Par 5 with an elevated tee shot. Then, the player must deal with two water hazards. The second of these is a large lake positioned in front of the green, a challenging final for a wonderful Par 5.
