Hole 1

Palácio

Meters:
486477454370
Pair:
5
A slight do-leg on the right with out of bounds on the left, longer players have the chance to reach the green with 2. The green slopes backwards and is well protected by bunkers on the left and right. A potential birdie hole

Hole 2

Concha

Meters:
317302262227
Pair:
4
A short par 4 but played into the wind. On your first shot, avoid the lake on the right and the bunker on the left. The second shot is played to an elevated two-tiered green. If the flag is positioned at the back left, precision and control are required for your second shot.

Hole 3

Eucaliptos

Meters:
373342311272
Pair:
4
A short par 4 with a gentle dog-leg from left to right. This hole has a difficult first shot from an elevated position with a bunker on the left and trees on the right, which requires both length and precision. The second shot is played to a sloping green that is well protected with a bunker in front and to the right.

Hole 4

Perdizes

Meters:
335317282243
Pair:
4
Par 4 with a slight dog-leg to the right and a fairway with a significant slope running to the right. Your second shot is to an elevated and well-protected green, which can be a real challenge when played upwind.

Hole 5

Terraços de Belas

Meters:
171149135102
Pair:
3
This challenging par 3 is usually played into the wind and the long green is well protected with bunkers to the left and right. Getting a par on this hole is a decent achievement.

Hole 6

Sinuouso

Meters:
438423416378
Pair:
5
You get the chance to hit a birdie or an eagle on this hole! This short par 5 can be reached with two shots, but be careful with the butting, as the green is well protected by four tiers, enough to put a birdie in doubt.

Hole 7

Grande Timoneiro

Meters:
317278248214
Pair:
4
A short but challenging par 4 played into the wind. On your first shot, you need to avoid the lake on the right and the bunker on the left. The second shot is played to an elevated two-tiered green. If the flag is positioned at the back left, precision and control are required for your second shot.

Hole 8

Selo do Correio

Meters:
14412711191
Pair:
3
The shortest hole on the course, which usually has a helpful wind. The tee is in an elevated position on a green well protected by sand and water. Club selection is never easy on this challenging par 3.

Hole 9

Grande Buraco

Meters:
323313289249
Pair:
4
This is an excellent hole to finish off the first nine holes with. On your first shot, you need to avoid the bunkers on the left and the bushes on the right. Your second shot to the green has to be very precise in order to avoid the bunkers on the left and the long lake on the right. A difficult hole to get a birdie on.

Hole 10

Giesta

Meters:
377364316259
Pair:
4
A par 4 measuring 383 metres with a slight dog-leg to the left. The wind usually blows from left to right, so your first shot should be placed as close to the bunker as possible, as the fairway also slopes from left to right. The second shot is uphill onto an undulating green, so it's crucial to make the right club choice to avoid the bunker on the right and to hit the ball pin high.

Hole 11

Augusta

Meters:
503478455415
Pair:
5
A par 5 on a slope of under 500 metres, on which the wind usually helps. It can be played in two different ways. You can either hit a driver to the left of the dog-leg and then to the right to reach the green in two, avoiding the water obstacle in front of the green, or play it as a conventional par 5: approach in two and play a short pitch for the third shot. For both options, it's best to place the ball below the hole so that you have an uphill putt.

Hole 12

Freixo

Meters:
409381295288
Pair:
4
This long par 4 of over 400 metres is the start of Amen Corner in Belas (holes 3,4, and 5). The tee shot needs to be long and straight to avoid the four bunkers strategically placed along the fairway. The sloping green is situated below the fairway line and protected by a water hazard on the left and bunkers to the right. A challenging and beautiful hole, one of the best par 4s on the course, perhaps even in Portugal.

Hole 13

Duplo Faiway

Meters:
339315286274
Pair:
4
Less than 400 metres long, but uphill and with the wind usually against it, this hole is a difficult par 4. Your drive needs to be long and straight to avoid the bunkers to the left of the fairway. The elevated green is very well protected by bunkers and has three distinct levels for flag placement, so club selection for the second shot is quite challenging on this hole. Getting a par on this hole is a decent achievement.

Hole 14

Cidade

Meters:
207187168144
Pair:
3
This hole is a long par 3 that offers fantastic views of the Sintra mountains and the surrounding countryside. The elevated tee is the highest point on the course and is usually played with a strong wind blowing from left to right. The relatively flat green is well protected, so a par on this hole is no mean feat.

Hole 15

Jamor

Meters:
491475461431
Pair:
5
This hole is a par 5 measuring around 500 metres and it has a raised tee. The player then has to manoeuvre their way around two water hazards. In front of the green, you'll find a large lake, providing a challenging end to a marvellous par 5 hole.

Hole 16

Perigo Amarelo

Meters:
185163128117
Pair:
3
This is a difficult par 3 measuring over 190 metres. The green is flanked by bunkers to the left and right. This hole is usually faced with a strong headwind, so hitting the green is always a challenge, and the right choice of club is crucial.

Hotel 17

Subtil

Meters:
314300272272
Pair:
4
A short par 4 with the wind behind you. You might be able to reach the green with your first shot but be warned that if you miss the green to the left or right you could easily end up with a double bogey on your card.

Hole 18

Anfiteatro

Meters:
383371333298
Pair:
4
An excellent par 4 with a difficult second shot to a three-tiered green, protected by bunkers on the left and a lake on the right. One of the best par 4s on the course and a real challenge with the wind blowing from left to right.
