Real Estate Personality Award – Gilberto Jordan
Gilberto Frederico von Liechtenstein Jordan was born in Rio de Janeiro, BraziI, on 28 August 1961.
Although a Portuguese, Brazilian and Lichtenstein citizen, in reality he has become a ‘citizen of the world’.
During his school years he passed through Argentina, Lichtenstein, Portugal, the United States and Brazil. Today he fluently speaks Portuguese, EngIish, German, Spanish and French.
Moreover, his career actually began as a German and English teacher at the Berlitz School of Languages, in Rio de Janeiro.
But Portugal soon cane onto his professional horizon. First at Planal. the firm which owned and managed Quinta do Lago, in the Algarve, then at the advertising agency Planarte, at Invesplano – Promoção e Investimentos Imobillários and at the Banco Comercial Português.
He became well known as the CEO of Lusotur, the company which owned and managed Vilamoura inthe Algarve, a 1.750 hectares real estate development; as well os Planbelas, the development and management company of the 500 hectares Belas Clube de Campo, for which he is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors.
He is currently a member of prestigious entities such os RICS – Royol Institution of Chartered Surveyors, of the Portuguese Association of Real Estate Developers and Investors (APPII) and the ULI – Urban Land Institute, just to name a few.
The environment and sustainability have also been the ethos of his life, having been involved with entities such as Green Globe. London, CEAR – Centre for Nature Studies and the Environment, Vilamoura, and AREAL – Algarve Regional Energy and Environment Agency. Moreover, the Portuguese Confederation of Associations in Defence of the Environment has awarded Gilberto Jordan an Honorary Mention for the ‘Fernando Pereira’ Environmental Award.
An essential personality on the nacional and international real estate landscape, Gilberto Jordan has already been awarded a wide array of distinctions, notably and more recently the naval Order of Merit
– Commander, conferred by the Federal Republlc of Brazil and the Order of Tourism Merit – Silver Medal, granted by the Portuguese government.
